My art
My name is Madelen, and my art is deeply rooted in my own life journey.
For years, I lived with both physical and psychological abuse — a reality that far too many women and girls still face every day. Art became my voice, my armor, and my healing. Through my work, I’ve created a powerful avatar of myself: a female Knights Templar. She stands not only for me, but for every woman who has ever felt powerless, silenced, or broken. She is strength reborn — a protector, a fighter, and a reminder that we can rise.
But there is another side of me, one that is filled with joy, color, and laughter — and that side belongs to the dogs.
I create cartoon-style artwork of happy, rescued dogs, inspired by the beautiful souls who have come into our lives. My husband Thomas and I have dedicated ourselves to saving animals in need, giving them the love and safety they were once denied. Through these cheerful illustrations, I try to capture the spirit of second chances, of wagging tails and wide open hearts.
I live to spread joy — but I also carry a deep awareness of the pain that hides behind many smiles. That’s why my art will always walk hand in hand with purpose: to empower, to protect, and to bring light where there once was fear.
This is my calling. This is my art.
For the women who need strength.
For the dogs who deserve love.
For hope. Always.
